Just wondering are there any difficulties bringing books through customs? Is it possible to order from Amazon?

Dear jim6169,
This has been discussed often before. Regarding books, well, unless you're planning on bringing in, say, Salman Rushdie's "Satanic Verses" or the Bible,
you shouldn't have any problems (and the way cutoms works - or often doesn't - you might even get those in - but don't try it.)
And as for Amazon - yes, you can order.
Regards,
John

Agree with John. This and related issues have been discussed many times already, so I suggest you do a search rather than have people reiterate what they wrote before.

In brief: Although the selection of books availabe in the Kingdom is vry limited, there are rarely problems with bringng books into the country, either in your luggage or through online shops like Amazon. Geenrally speaking, customs are more concerned about DVDs glossy magazines or any visual images in your books, than about the books themselves.

To the O/P -- Here is a thread that explains a lot about what is "allowable" and what isn't. I found the board regulars comments here to be very helpful :
