| I still have to glance at my lesson plan so I don't forget a step. |
I am the same way. I keep my planning book at the front with me (as opposed to keeping it at my desk). I have one subject, "Reading", which is actually a combination of reading, grammar, writing, Phonics, vocabulary, and more! If I don't refer to and stick with my lesson plans, I can easily forget where I'm at and what comes next. |

i guess some of you guys need to be reminded of your steps and that's ok with me. i mean whatever it takes to have a good class.

| Saying that FT's shouldn't accept contracts requiring lesson plans is silly. |
believe it or not, but to me it's an extra work. for a few years, i've been preparing my students for oral presentations. i've got a course book to guide me through with speaking and listening exercises. i supplement the exercises according to circumstances. mind you that the course book's got all details step by step what to do. actually, i am only to "facilitate" it all. i carry out the end of course assessments and so i know what my students need often better than the book. and, my experience is that every student is different. to me sometimes it'd be silly making up lesson plans. in a classroom discussion i can accomplish much more than in a stiff class of students looking at what i am going to do next, and next and next. yes, i have small classes of 10-12 students. and yes they participate, 'cause that's a part of their score.
cheers and beers to all points of views and experiences on the topic as well as cheers and beers to the steps we have to or don't have to look at
