I am heading off to Medical school in the fall and I have been postponing this trip. Finally decided to go to Latin America for 6-8 weeks. Also, want to improve my Spanish
Advice on where to go? Considering Chile, but heard slangs and accents might be a problem...
Should I take a course or just live and absorb the culture?
Which countries are more flexible when hiring teachers? Plan to teach even if only part-time or with low-pay
And for Argentina; seems fun, but my brother's girlfriend told me they are quite racist to African American women. Any experiences.
Appreciate any help! |

I've heard Ecuador and Peru have good accents. If you go to Peru, avoid LIma like the plague. Peru is VERY flexible for hiring teachers, Ecuador's not. lsu in Ec you only get 90 days for a tourist visa, then have to leave for 90. Peru, on the other hand, you get up to 180 if you ask nicely. Then either border hop and get another 180 or overstay and pay a dollar a day. I know people who have been border hopping for 3 yeras. |
