|
|
Hi Everyone,
I'm new in this forum. I am double Master's degree holder, i.e. MBA and MS. in Business Studies from UK and currently working in a company, in Bahrain.
I want to teach in the University, because i believe that i have got excellent communication skills and i feel that i should be teaching.
Where should i apply and what should i do?(the process),what are the Universities i should be applying?, what are my chances of getting the job? Since this forum is full of experienced peoples, hence I would appreciate your advises in this regards. |

They only employ native speakers. |

Really? None of the rest of the universities in the Gulf hire only native speakers.
I am assuming that you are talking about teaching business Shumail? You have no credentials for teaching English, no matter how high your language skills are. If you are working in Bahrain, why not just visit the university and talk to the business department.

With the exception of bilingual English/Arabic teachers, who are mainly Bahrainis, both universities, which are largely Saudi funded, only hire native speakers. |

Shumail,
Bahrain University employs people from almost all over the world - a very international jet-set work there. Many Arab teachers and profs from Levant and Africa.
Other private unis/colleges in Bahrain I know of also employ a variety of nationals.
If there is one which employs exclusively Westerners can't confirm.
Shumail, sent you a pm with a listing if unis and colleges in Bahrain.
My advice: talk to those who are in charge of hiring at the places of your ineterest. Shouldn't be a problem since you a re now working in Bahrain.
Bahrain is a beautiful island and Bahrainis are friendly people, btw.

I sent you my email.
BTW, Bahrain is pretty hard to get in, especially for more cushy, i.e. academic tertiary positions. Though the country is pretty pricey and doesn't pay very well, still hard to get in.
Maybe you should also consider in your thinking other Gulf countries. Though probably none of them will be able to offer you the balmy yet solemn tone Bahrain does, so at least I think, still a lot depends on how determined you are to change your job-story.
Just food for thought.
