|
|
My boyfriend and I spent last year teaching ESL in Korea. We're thinking about getting our teaching certifications in the United States (we each have a bachelor's degree all ready), and we're wondering if this would qualify us to teach in international schools? Also, are jobs in international schools widely available or difficult to come by?
We're just doing some preliminary research right now, and any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

International schools in Japan usually require that applicants have a teaching license and 1-2 years of experience from their home countries.
See the FAQ stickies in the Japan forum for a description of job fairs, which seem to be the main way to find out about such jobs.
Most teaching jobs are pretty competitive here now. In Japan the market is flooded. Can't say for international jobs. |

With teaching certs, that's all you really need. That being said, the popular countries are super competitive. Other countries are easier to get into and you can get a job with only a cert.
Go to www.tes.co.uk
or sign up for an intl job fair. |
