Just wondering what the weekends are like in KSA? Thurs/Fri
Are businesses such as banks, shops, restaurants open?
Are there any restrictions to the above or any recreation on Fridays?
Thanks Mr K Rolling Eyes

Banks and offices are closed. Shops and restaurants as well as shopping malls. Most places are closed Friday mornings but some supermarkets are open Friday until 10.30 am and then open again after noon prayer.

There is no concept of the Sabbath here - but prayer time should be respected.

^ I think that's what he meant to say, but forgot to type "are open" between 'restaurants' and 'as'.

Dear trapezius,

"He is old, you gotta be forgiving"

Luckily for you, scot47 will likely forget your reference to his advancing years too soon after he reads it to issue a scathing reply.
There was something else I was going to comment on here, but for the life of me, I can't recall now just what it was.
Regards,
Umm - oh yes, John

Having spent 6+ years in the US as a student, and being married to a British wife (and spending my summers there) has ensured that I know my Americanisms as well as Britishisms. Razz

Well John.
There goes any notions of a mandatory retirement age in the KSA.
Are people slightly disappointed when they meet you John, or do you really look like your avatar??? Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
PS I am avatar less because of some Byzantine formula one has to invoke, but once I get the ankle biter to guide me through the labyrinth I shall of course acquire one, I am tentatively looking at a picture of Marie Antoinette,
but don't want to arouse the antipathy of the good ladies on these forums by suggesting I am of a gender I don't belong to.
Any advice on appropriate choice of avatar would be welcome.
A perplexed Mr K. Neutral Neutral Neutral

The great thing about the condition (Alzheimers) is that you only need to have one detective novel. Just keep reading it because you forget the ending. I do not have dyslexia but diabetic retinopathy and cannot see many advantages to that condition.

I am glad that you eagle-eyed youngsters spotted my typo. I do this to keep readers awake. It is called "interactivity".

Anhd I think I am doing okay for one who dates back to 1847
