Hello Everybody,

If you are working in Morocco and apply for a card sejour and have the receipt and resign from your job to take a new one. What happens to the card sejour? Do you have to file for a new one?

4 wheel drive:

If you have a carte de sejour, it is good for one year. Don't bother updating it, that would be too confusing and irregular. Next year, before it expires, if you are still there and want to stay another year, get your new employer to take care of it. If they don't deal w/carte de sejours, you probably don't want to be working for them

The carte, as ODW says, is generally good for a year. A more important concern is that if you go to work for a school, they apply for your work permit (contrat du travail) in their name and it's also good for a year. If you then switched jobs, let's say after 6 months, you can't really legally work for another school on that former permit. If the second school is reputable, they will ask you for legal proof that you have left the first place legally. But your residence card would stay valid for another 6 months.

I want to try and give a simple answer to the orginal question:

Places where efl jobs are common and often advertised for on Dave's:

Morocco
Eygpt
Libya
Tunisia
Sudan
Ethiopia

If you want to work for the British Council, they recruit teachers in:

Tansania
Kenya
Morocco
Tunisa
Eygpt
Cameroon
Senegal
Uganda (I think)

If you want to Volunteer thru the various agencies:

Mali
Uganda
Botwsana
etc

Also quite a few jobs in South Africa, but they pay little

Cheers
TC

Do not go to the citcsudan website listed. This is the site for Cambridge CITC Sudan. If you end up going to this school you will regret it. I promise. Just look on the web. They have a bad reputation, and a blog from almost every English speaker that they have ever hired.

There may be jobs coming up in a variety of African countries soon via a friend of mine. Small scale contract roles apparently; I'm waiting for info but when it's posted up as an ad I'll point you all in that direction.
