PostPosted: Mon Apr 27, 2009 3:30 pm    Post subject: Bell and visas Reply with quote

hello there,

I interviewed with Bell back on October of 2008.

They kept telling me different stories about the "block" visas and starting dates.

It took over half a year then they wanted me to jump on a plane all of a sudden.

They booked the flight and I confimred a second too late.

I got to KSA on my own with a business visa and when I contacted them they changed their minds.

I am discovering a lot of the work in KSA takes a long time, etc.....

A few practical questions:

1. Is the Bell/ORD salary good for KSA? Able to save plenty?
2. How many days do teachers work - 5/5.5/6?
3. What's the (men's) accommodation like? Single/shared? Furnished? Has all mod-cons like internet and satellite TV?
4. Is the accommodation near the uni? Is the uni far from the city centre?
5. What about the transport situation - do teachers have to rent a car, or is to/from work transport provided?
6. Are they fast and reliable in getting the Iqama sorted?

Cheers for any answers anyone can give.

A warning to all my TEFL colleagues!!!
I was offered a job at KSU by Bell recruiters and now with all changes therethey have just told me that they offer is not valid anymore. Take care!! I have left a good job in order to join this project and finally was treated with this lack of consideration.

Can anyone tell me what kind of questions they ask at the interview?
Does anyone know what they are looking for in a candidate (besides breathing Laughing ) I have an interview in a few days with bell

Also, when they offer someone a position, do they expect you to sign the contract immediatley or do they wait until the visa has been processed? Just wondering because stuff can happen while you are waiting for the visa an you could change your mind.

Any advice is appreciated
