I'm arriving in Hanoi this summer and will look for a job when I get there. I have some flexability as to when I arrive, so I'm curious as to when the teaching "seasons" begin and end? If I come July 1st, will it be harder to find a job than if I arrive August 1st? I plan to stay for a year anyway, but would like to start working sooner than later.
thanks |

There aren't really 'seasons' as such, most schools have rolling course start-dates year round. The exception is the fact that most public schools are off for summer holidays in June and July, so there are potentially extra jobs teaching Young Learners starting at the end of May, which doesn't fit with your plans. However, some people come only for the summer, so their departures might create a slight bubble of openings from late July. The sooner you arrive and get your CV out to some schools, the better. |
