There are a few people here I'd like to PM, people with experience at QU, but because I have just registered with the board do not have PM privileges. I would be grateful if some of you contacted me.
Thank you. |

The best things are the housing (I had no complaints) and the teachers you work with. The courses are not bad but need constant revision. The placement system is a disaster and needs to be reviewed. Most of the administrators are OK people but someone at the top needs to review his attitude and management tactics. He needs to appraise himself and see how he can be a better person and a better manager. The checklist/spy system is what is used in penal institutions not universities.
Control/punishment is not the way to go, the way to go is support. Support your staff, treat them well and they will support you as the man says. No doubt about it. |

| Has anyone heard what might be going on in the Mass Communication Department? I recently interviewed for a position there (by a professor from another university who QU has a relationship with) and was recommended #1 to be interviewed by the department head and Dean; however, the department head apparently left and the new head has decided not to move forward with any of the hires (there were going to be multiple hires in two areas). |

| What is the typical salary package for a candidate to the Foundation program with a Master's degree and 5, 10, and 20 years experience? |

Last year the new teachers were offered 13,500 QR (US$3700) plus usual Gulf benefits... and it didn't seem to make any difference the amount of experience, which is unusual. I know that there was an effort being made to raise the amount this year or perhaps have a scale based on experience, but so far I haven't heard from anyone as to offers.

| Thanks, VS! I figured that was why I hadn't had a reply. |

| From what I've seen on Facebook, this place looks like a blast. The teachers are really wild. So is this what they do at the weekend? I can't wait to join them! Party, party, party! It must be a great place to live. Those QU babes look hot to trot. |
