I still haven't seen the new "Trek"; don't get mad...but I am thinking about bootlegging it off of a bit torrent site.
(The closest movie theater is 80 miles from me) That is 160 miles round trip. Yes, I live in the middle of nowhere.
I have the right equipment: 40 LCD flatscreen TV, digital sound card with 5.1 surround sound speakers; but that is not the same as the "theater experience."
Take care.

It's worth the drive. Suck it up and do it.

Dear Mexicobound,
Forget the drive; just use your transporter.

John

Dear rusmeister,
Darn, are you off your meds again? You KNOW what the doctor told you. Now walk slowly to your medicine cabinet and take two of the blues and three yellows.
Regards,
John

Dear SueH,
Considering what I know of rusmeister's interests, I'd say yours is the more likely guess.

Hey John,
Have you been to White Sands?
Carlsbad Caverns?
Chaco Canyon?
Roswell?
Ruidoso?
The 4 corners?
I spent most of my youth traveling the Southwest with my grandparents.
I love NM; except Tucumcari, the wind never stops blowing in Tucumcari.

Dear Mexicobound,
I've been to them all, with the single exception of Ruidoso. I also lived for a year in Cortez, CO and taught in Shiprock. I love the Four Corners region: Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Canyonlands, Combs Ridge, Canyon de Chelly, and, my favorite, Chaco Canyon (I've been there over a dozen times.). I fell in love with NM in 1993, when I made my first trip to the Southwest. Right then, I knew I was going to settle here someday. For me, the state slogan is true; it is "The Land of Enchantment."

The state song seems especially appropriate to my situation:

"I met a lady in my drifting days
I quickly fell under the spell of her loving ways
A rose in the desert I loved her so
In the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico

As we watched the sunset by the Rio Grande
A mission bell rang farewell she took my hand
She said "come back amigo no matter where you go"
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico

From her arms I wandered, far across the sea
I often heard her gentle words haunting me
"Come back amigo, I miss you so"
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico

So come back amigo no matter where you go
To the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico."
Regards,
John

I post because there aren't many contributors to the Italy forum and I like to help where I can.

I'm anonymous (except to a very few) as I was also stalked by an ex. It was horrible - lots of emails and phone calls, being followed everywhere. You never know why or when it will end. Years after it stopped, it started again with odd messages on another site. I hope that he gets his kicks out of that and doesn't bother googling me. Like Justin my address is a mystery to all but locals and I'm glad that I'm "unfindable".

I also like the idea that I may be able to help newbies consider their options realistically - and sometimes I take the opportunity to offer ideas to teachers who are asking about classroom stuff. Finally, I think Dave's offers ways to keep in touch with what's going on in our field in the rest of the world - most of my long-term personal contacts are limited to Europe and Canada.

People have given me advice when I first moved to Korea. I also enjoy helping anyone else who wants to start an adventure abroad.

My sanity is regularly questioned by people who know me better than you do. Gotta be crazy to do this for a living, anyway. For anyone who's actually wondered; Yes, Justin Trullinger is my real name.

Well sometimes I like to discuss issues on here since sometimes it is one of the few opportunities I have to write something other than basic English sentences. Currently, I am mainly teaching elementary children and rarely need to use a complex sentence.
