Why does it take so long for PMs to leave the Outbox? Is it my computers (I use two)? Or is it my ISP? I sent two about 8 hours ago and still they languish in my ''Outbox''. |

Dear Sheik,
Well, I suppose it's possible that the recipients haven't opened them yet.
That, I believe, is when they go to the "Sentbox".
Regards,
John |

Thank you, John. I'm a bit of a technophobe. Didn't touch a computer till I was 43. |

Dear Sheikh,
I've got you beat - I didn't touch one until I was 46. But then, for much of my life, computers were mainly science fiction or so big it took a whole room to hold one.
My, my - we've come a long way fast. And, as usual, that has its upsides and its downsides.
Regards,
John |

In fact, I'm not a technophobe. I love it. My wife despairs at the time I spend in front of the screen. Some of my younger students dismiss the net as a ''tool'' they use at work! It fascinates me! |

Well, neither, it is your state of mind which is flummoxed by IT!
Uncle Scott told you to drink hot camel milk before you go to sleep, but you did not take his advice! |

Wrong, Bond! I've received no such advice from the Flying Scot. My late night tipple is a delicious, smooth red liquid made from the grapes of Andalus. |

Normally it means that they haven't picked up the message. Many people come on and read posts but don't log in unless they want to post, so they might miss the PMs.
Or... if it is one of those kind of days (too much grape juice), you could just assume that they are avoiding you. There are people here whose PMs I ignore.

I am given to understand that there is a PM in the UK
who is also ignored by everyone.
