Never trust these cowboys. There's no loyalty to the teacher. It's a business, not a school.

I absolutely agree.

But what schools are you having difficulty with? What happened?

We can share experiences.

just the same old story im afraid. Old teachers being pushed out, whilst new teachers willing to work for much less are being brought in.

I don't like to name any particular schools, but one of them has been mentioned on here numerous times.

Its funny, when i first started working i got paid just 13.5 per hour, Which is pretty bad, but at the time i thought it was fair because i had no real experience. So i accepted and worked as many hours as i could. I tried real hard to improve, was never late, nor did i have many days off. so finally, i asked for a pay rise, which they gave me. Suddenly after a couple of months, my hours were cut down from 15 hours to just 6 hours. All because they brought in someone new at a cheaper rate.

I think I can guess which school you're referring to.

Is it the same school with the new no-hire policy at the age of 50?

This school seems to be cutting costs, by hiring new young teachers with no experience, paying them the bottom rate -and- scheduling them to teach for 40+ contact hours.

Also, one group that are not native speakers from a nearby country are being recruited and hired to teach for an even lower rate of $10 USD per hour. Nice, hard working teachers from this nearby country. They are not native speakers, but some of them have very good accents, however some do not.

This school is definitely cutting costs, and yes, they are staffing many teachers in their 20s. You'll see less and less of the older teachers at this school. The change has already started.
