Yeah, I could try to sell this stuff for legal tender, but...
Believe it or not, I may have to do something in TESOL known as a runner.
'Doing a runner' is when a person flees a bad job nearly instantly. Many do these at midnight, which is the time between 11 at night and 1 in the morning.
Instantly means right now.
To flee means to get the hell outta there. |
...already you are talking about doing a "runner" and you have not even arrived in the Kingdom!
Your thought process is all screwed up!
If such thoughts are in your head to begin with then you best not come here because it's an almost certainty you will end up running away( which will be near impossible without a proper exit visa anyways)...so don't waste your time and energy trying to get into a country you plan on running away from... |

Let me echo cmp. You had better stay where you are. Leave KSA for people who want to come here and do a reasonably honest day's work.
If you are entertaining thoughts of absconding from your masters before you even get an entry visa, what can we say ? |

Rigel,
I'm curious, what type of situation would make you run?

I'm considering all my options and possible moves. With turnover what it is in the KSA, which pays some of the highest salaries in the world, I'll definitely have my plan in place if I were to come to the great sandy gulag. Could it be the 110-degree heat in mid-May? Whatever it is, sensible people don't quit good jobs without good reason. That rule applies anywhere. |

There is not exactly a surplus of sensible people in KSA in my experience. (So it looks like you'll fit in just fine). |

Dear Stephen,
"There is not exactly a surplus of sensible people in KSA in my experience."
I have to take some of the blame for that. When I left in 2003, that reduced the number of "sensible people in KSA" drastically.
Regards,
John |

I doubt having a plan about doing a runner is a good way to begin any job. It's a negative approach and only serves to set you up for failure, but heh if that is how you operate then good luck to ya... |

Well the chances are the recruiters are reading these posts and adding 2 plus 2.
It equals 22, isn't it ? Perhaps I should petition the feline numerical for clarification. Is it actually 222 ? |

Sounds like you know what it takes to fit in there. So what you're saying is all these people who aren't sensible are being reminded by guys like me how much their lives suck there in the KSA? |

REASONS TO DO A RUNNER
1. Being offered hot camel milk by a cat on the street.
2. Someone uses the word flummoxed in a sentence twice (once incorrectly)
3. Having a street cat jump on my back, scratch me, and give me the rabies virus.
4. Dancing to 80's music with a bunch of well dressed Saudi women at a get together.
5.Being chased down the street by a giant sand worm.
I have to go make breakfast now

Don't you just hate it when the OP blatantly ignores your question! |

By far the best reason of them all. |

That's where the problem lies.
Thanks for the heads-up. |
