Hi sorry to bother,
I'm in the process of updating my CV from 2001, and I have a question about referees. I've read a lot of advice that says you should have 3 referees on you CV. The thing is that I've been in the same job now for over two years, and have lost touch with my old referees. For example one school I worked at 3 years ago has changed all its management staff, and I don't know where the old ones are now. I am in sporadic contact with my other referee and haven't seen her in 3 years anyway, so I feel a bit weird putting her on.
What I want to know, from you people out there who recruit teachers, is whether it's acceptable to have 3 referees from one school. Eg, the DoS, a senior teacher and a colleague. It seems a bit limited to me, but then again, surely referees from jobs 3 years ago are out of date anyway?
By the time I start job hunting, I'll have been at this school for 3 years, so are referees from previous jobs necessary?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

Well, references. Tricky huh? But I don't think you've got anything to worry about. Y'see, you've worked for the same place for three years, thus having a good record. That alone makes you employable there. Just have a good reason for leaving.

Secondly, it doesn't matter if they are from the same place as long as two/three different people write them (just make sure you put down different contacts details). I faked a couple once and asked my friend to be my ex boss and line manager. Both of which lived at the same address?!?!?!? I was caught....hehehee

I am currently trying to fabricate some references, having parted from my previous employers on less than amicable terms. Any tips would be appreciated.

Give them my office telephone number and I'll say nice(true) things. {For those who think that this unprofessional, it isn't. Snoopy isn't on amicable terms with ex employees because of office politics, nothing to do with his teaching ability and professionalism} He is a victim of ME "wasta"

When we recruit, we are often looking to get teachers as soon as possible. References or lack of references don't make much difference, as we don't have time to contact referees. The important thing is how you interview, and whether or not you know one end of a lesson plan from another.

In fact, I think that in all the various EFL teaching jobs that I have had, only one company ever checked out my references. It seems to me that if you are in the right place at the right time, you can do well without the need for references.

The allegations are unfounded. Some burk had moved the car, and I was also trying to avoid certain people.
