Exactly! What many ppl don't realize is that a return ticket to the U.S or Canada is setting you back 3,500-4,000 zl at least, during peak season.

Let's not even get into the 20-24 hours of travel involved.

Im flying back to the US for July and August from Wroclaw, cost me 700 bucks and I wasnt even looking hard for airfares. Thats 2100zl, plus Ill find some parttime work for few weeks because honestly Ill make more delivering pizzas in the US then teaching here. Smile

Just right now I found flights through Czech Air for July/August for 1200-1500zl including taxes.

I'd never live in Warsaw. On Thursday, starting at 16, it took me and friends almost 3 hours to get from PKP Kasprzaka thru the city to Zegrze.

Insane.

I don't think that you realize that there's a lot of construction going on in Warsaw and at 4pm is when people are going home from work. Maybe it was your attitude that was the problem and not the city! I love Warsaw, I lived in Wrocław for a month in 2007 and hated it! I guess it's a matter of personal choice where you live in Poland but don't make Warsaw look bad because of your personal problems with it.

Jeebus effin cryst!!!! wtf is with jumping all over me?????

How can you NOT realize the traffic when its so easy to see?? Even a baby monkey could comprehend it.

Gotta love how Jana Pawela II is a parking lot from CH Arkadia all the way thru and not even mentioning Słominskiego east over the river is a parking lot weekdays from 14-19.

how is my attitude a problem?? Is it a problem for you?

Maybe it was YOUR attitude that you didn't like Wroclaw.

How do I make Warsaw look bad from my post merely stating about the bad traffic?? BTW, the return trip at 20:00 to the same starting point only took 25 min. its about a 30km drive, 1 way

Every place in the world has a problem for someone. I was merely stating what I saw.

this forum is becoming rediculous....

From where I am sitting now (i.e. on the 20th floor) I can see Jana Pawla II from Rondo ONZ to Arkadia. I can see much more tarmac than traffic and the traffic there is is moving freely (apart from having to stop at the traffic lights of course)

Driving through Warsaw during rush hour simply isn't worth the hassle.

Well now you aren't stuck in "deadend teaching" as you so delightfully put it, you don't have to suffer this forum. I'm sure there's an importers' forum about Poland somewhere on the net.

If one can plan a bit in advance and is slightly flexible, there are some great deals out there. I was able to get a round trip ticket from Poznan to the US for less than $600 (a two-month trip). This was on Lot - not the best service, but for the price, how can you complain?

Right now Lot is offering round trip tickets from Warsaw to New York for less than $675 and to Chicago for less than $775. LA is more expensive, but Chicago and NYC are two major hubs - one can probably get a cheap flight from one of those cities to a final destination.

And Lot has a very generous baggage policy: two checked bags at 22 kg apiece.

you know Harry... you really are a prik.

You are probably the youngest and only surviving member in your family, and never got the attention you craved.

So now with the age of the internet, you feel that you have power to go and talk down to everyone, and be some "tough-guy behind a keyboard"

I'm sick of you talking crap about me...since I NEVER started anything such as insulting you and the mods seem to feel that it is ok for you to harrass me.

YOU, Harry from NWE, are the sole reason for my departure from this forum.

Good riddance

now... I bet you have "instant notifications turned on" for this thread and you are just sitting behind the corner to come here and insert some witty comment (in your own mind)

ATTN mods....please delete all the posts from me in this forum.

Some of you are focusing on the messenger and not the message and so there are insults, etc. This thread is now locked and I would appreciate anyone observing any inappropriate posting to report it immediately to the Mod Team by report post mode or PM.
