Hi John,

Why Dave suddenly decides to block a certain thread?

Thanks,

Dear freesoul,
Well it's not really Dave who locks a thread; it's a Moderator. And the usual reason is that in the content someone (or more than one) posted there's something "offensive" or even "libelous" - although if it's bad enough, those threads just "disappear."
Regards,
John

Well, you should finish your sentence before your escape to Taiwan!

In the following sentence, how would you define the meaning of "according to". " According to Chinese tradition children should obey their parents".

According to Chinese tradition, the meaning of "according to", has got the same meaning of according to" according to the Magic Kingdoms tradition!
I hope I answered your question. Laughing

A better question would be: Why did I marry them in the first place?

Why did you marry them in the first place?
Was it for their eyes or for their hearts? Laughing

Uncle Bond is Irish! This is harder than understanding Rumsfeld.

Well, since the OP is hardly likely to get a better answer to the question posed than the one I gave, anyway - why not?
Why did I marry them?
LIke a good lawyer (oxymoron alert), I never ask a question that I don't know the answer to.

Number 1: I married her BECAUSE she was (is?) crazy, which, I know, sounds pretty crazy. Yes, I had what I term "Florence Nightingale Syndrome", which means that I actually thought I COULD SAVE HER FROM HERSELF.
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Let me tell you - in case you don't know already: that NEVER works. It's like diving into the ocean to save someone who's drowning when you can't even swim. The only end result is that you both end up on the bottom.

Number 2: I married her because I'd been alone in Saudi for five years. I met her one summer holiday, spent a fevered week with her, went back, and we got married the next summer.
Everything was perfect - she was a truly lovely, charming, generous lady.
The only problem was that we had NOTHING in common (except s*x), and believe it or not, you need more than just that.
To put it simply - she was a "Jerry Lewis" person. She loved his brand of "comedy." I, on the other hand, find it physically painful to watch Mr. Lewis make an idiot of himself. I'm more of a Woody Allen person.
So, my first wife was too crazy while my second was too sane. Like Goldilocks, however, I've found the third one to be "just right": not TOO crazy, not TOO sane, and we have a LOT in common.
If we're lucky, we learn from our mistakes.
Regards,
John

Ameen.
May God bond your marriage and give both of you grace until the Day of Judgment.

"The man said, This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." (Genesis 2:23-24).
