Well, the school does correctly state that it is accredited by ACCET but I don't know what they mean by being "approved" by the State of California (and I couldn't find anythinig on either the State of California website or the California Department of Education website). |

MOD EDIT
I have a spot in Transworld's upcoming October comprehensive program, but I may switch to do the part-distance ed version because of the long commute time from the South Bay.
Did you encounter any students who were doing some of the coursework through the distance ed program? I'd really love to come into all of the classes, but with a 1 & 3 year old at home, and my husband supposedly working from home while watching them, I think it's more realistic to do as much studying from home as possible for the sake of our life balance. I would still be doing 1 full week in person, plus another full week for the advanced certification. So hopefully I get some of the in-class benefits.
Best wishes,
Asma |

I did the online program and it was okay; the onsite week of practice teaching ditto. The most important thing to think about is where you want to teach and if they will accept this certification. Your graduation packet does not say you took part of the course online, so it looks like you took the classroom program, which is important since online programs are disparaged in most areas. |

I got my CTESOL at Transworld. My general opinion is that they do quite a good job with the academic/classroom prep part of the training, but are not as helpful with job placement/work advice as they advertise they will be. I can answer more specific questions about the place if you'd like. |
