Hiya

I can't seem to find many jobs advertised overseas. Apart from Dave's and Ajarn, can anyone recommend where else to look?

Or am I buying a flight and just heading over there? Smile

I've got a PGCE, CELTA and 2 years experience ( a looooong time ago).

Cheers for any advice.

See this thread: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=72267

If you've got PGCE and have 2 years post-qualification experience, really you should be trying for the better international schools. As well as the links in the above thread, try the TES website as they have jobs for better qualified main-stream teachers advertised.

Thanks for the reply. The international schools tend to want a couple of years recent UK school experience and I've been out of the classroom for some years doing development stuff. Don't think I'd qualify. Might be worth sending a few speculative letters out though.

I'll have a look at that link now. Thanks again. Wink

You're too late for most international school jobs but don't be fooled many international schools in Thailand try to pass themselves off as good / great schools but in reality they are mediocure at best. The salaries they pay are far below teaching salaries in other countries and in some cases not much better than language schools. There are a whole host of them in Chiang Mai. Even http://www.premcenter.org (the best paying school in Chiang Mai) struggles at times to find qualified teachers.

For a list of international schools in Thailand go to www.shambles.net/
