Well, if you are looking for a woman's body in a bikini, then this article is not for you!
"BEAUTY may well be in the eye of the beholder but in a country where a woman's eyes are the only feature on public display, judging a beauty pageant could prove awkward.
For that reason, the future Miss Saudi Arabia will not win on the merits of her figure in a bikini or her perfect skin, but will instead secure the coveted crown by dint of her devotion to her parents and Islamic values.
As of tomorrow, 200 veiled hopefuls will start a 10-week process to find the winner of "Miss Beautiful Morals", including a workshop entitled "Mum, paradise is at your feet", a reference to the Prophet Mohammed's dictum that respect for one's parents is a foundation of the faith. "

Teta Mia, I recommend that you participate in the "Miss Beautiful Morals" competition!
"Women will not be televised, allowing the competitors to take off the veils and black abayas that cover Saudi women from head to toe. "
"We care about the beauty of the soul and the morals." |

A commendable sentiment, to be sure, but how does one measure such things? |

And if that is the measure, why would they need to remove their abaya and veils.

Well, nobody can measure the beauty of soul and morals except GOD.
As far as human beings are sinful, their judgment on the beauty of soul and morals will be lacking integrity!
If you want to know what happen when Miss California meet "Miss Beautiful Morals", then read the following article:

Well, to read their body language, and check if they are lying or not in their behaviour with their mothers! |

Dear roy_101,
"is this for real?"
A question that pops up fairly often among ex-pats in the Kingdom.

Of course is for real. We are in the 21st century, and the Magic Kingdom is improving, but with very slow pace! |

Dear 007,
Actually, according to the Islamic calendar, the Kingdom is in the fifteenth century.
And you know - that always seemed just about spot on to me.

I find this almost as bad, and maybe worse, than the beauty pageants.
Hey let's compete to see who is more virtuous.
Any girl who really truly followed Islam properly in her life would be abhorred by this competition. Religion, morality, and virtuosity are not contests. According to Islam, some of the worst people are those who go to prayers just to be seen as praying. Also according to Islam, people should give charity so secretly that even the left hand of the giver wouldn't come to know that the right hand had given charity.
And these people want to compete with each other to see who is better in morals?
Actually yes, it is worse. |
