But has (s)he given the possibility any thought that the 50 kuai given to the canteen manager may include a 25 kuai deposit?

It might have been premature calling her a 'liar'...

Or that she credited the entire 50RMB on your card because you didn't (couldn't) explain to her, before you handed her a 50 RMB note, that you only wanted to put 25 RMB on the card?

I addressed this issue already:

"...Now, get this: later, he tells me that he was told that the lunch card itself cost 25 yuan. All students and teachers pay 25yuan for JUST THE CARD.

I asked two of my classes if they paid 25 yuan for just the card. Nope. I asked a teacher. Nope."

Re: making sandwiches. That's a GREAT idea!

Unfortunately, I cannot store food in the small refrigerator in my apartment. It has mold growing in it that makes it smell like there's a dead animal in it. No amount of cleaning it or deodorizing it helps. I reported this to the FAO after I was moved out of one room that had the same problem in not only the refrigerator but on the walls of the room as well.

I was hoping to receive advice regarding recourse. I appreciate the personal criticism because it is making me examine my own behavior that might have contributed to this whole mess.

Lesson learned: don't question authority, accept insults, and not try to solve problems when it is clear that no one in a position of authority is interested in solving problems.

And never accept a 5,000rmb challenge from an administrator to catch someone doing something wrong.

And Outer Banks, my boy, I am not a young'un as you suggest. I am far from being one. Graybeard might be a better term to use to refer to me.

Are you related to MOSLEY by any chance? He used the term young'un a lot too. We use that term a lot back in Kill Devil Hills, NC, which isn't really that far from the Outer Banks. Maybe you, MOSLEY and I are neighbors, do ya think?

Again, thanks to everyone who has responded to my post.
