|
|
Ive been in Japan (Osaka) a month now and it doesnt look likely Ill get a job. Ill probably have to leave for somewhere else in asia.
Where in Asia is there a good combination of money and quality of life?
By quality of life I mean - good food, reasonable cost of living, good night life, and last but not least, women. I want enjoy myself and at the same time save some money.
Anyone have any recommendation or opinions? |

China for sure, you'll live very well here, not in Western money terms but in China you'll have more than enough. However if you want a nightlife you'll have to go to the bigger cities, which means more temptations to spend, spend, spend. If you want women, then China's a great place, but again it'll cost you! |

007 you can't find a job in Osaka? What have you done to look? The big schools should take you on. If you're on a tourist visa then get a job with a biggie, get the work visa and then you can, I would have thought, get a job at a smaller school if you wish.
Are you experienced? Degree? should be no problem. |

Dear khmerhit,
I'm really beginning to suspect that you get a kick-back from the Cambodian government for every EFL teacher you lure there. Actually, I think it's great you like your environment that much; heck, sometimes you even tempt ME.

John,
You would be right at home. There is even a branch of the Veterans of Overseas Wars.
A lot of veterans pass through. Some never leave.
A former colleague of mine recently attempted to return to his homeland to settle. He's back in Cambodia now.
It's that kind of place!
Yours swimmingly

Dear khmerhit,
"Yours swimmingly"
Would that be an allusion to "Swimming to Cambodia" by Spalding Gray, who had his own thread on this forum? Have you seen the film; would you recommend it? Have you already answered these questions?
Regards,
John |

Dear Stephen Jones,
Ah, you old, cynic, you. Clearly, you haven't met sidjameson yet. Please see his thread, entitled "Why Saudi and not Japan?" on the Saudi Arabia Forum. That gentleman seems to be enjoying himself a good deal AND saving a lot of money.
Regards,
John |

But I thought 007 never had problems getting women? |

007,
What are your qualifications? Looking for a job in Japan right now is prime time.
As for this...

Japan is not really the best choice. |
