There seems to be a few posters now interested in Iraq and the numbers can only increase. I'd like to see Iraq have its own forum. All in favour, say Aye! |

I hardly think so. When they have more than one or two employers (Sabis and AU? and the mystery military jobs in the Green Zone that don't advertise) and a handful of teachers... maybe. It gets about the same number of threads as Jordan or Syria or Lebanon. Perhaps a "Levant" branch some day?

Hey what about Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan? They all have higher tefler populations than Iraq. None of them are listed yet. |

Hmm, why not call it the "Stan" forum (with apologies to Azerbaijan?)
By the way, has anyone read "Absurdistan" or seen the movie with the same title?

Well, Iraq has already its own international forum ... and Uncle Sam was the moderator and the terminator of Iraq forum!
I hope the silver bullet with your name will not detonate during your grammar class in Talabanis kingdom! |

Hey, what do you mean "where's my sense of adventure"? Granted, I could have been more verbose in my reply - I think that Iraq is a very interesting place, could have lots of opportunity for those with the right kind of nerve - but I am essentially a chicken at heart about my bodily well being - hence, I need my flak jacket (it's sort of like Linus's security blanket), but I'd certainly be willing to look into possible Iraqi employment (I just can't tell my Mom) . |

Both Absurdistan and the Russian Debutante's Handbook were quite amusing. Good reads. But very similar. Let's hope Shteyngart isn't a one trick pony. |

They have made a movie of it? I'll look for it.
Among other things, it is a great roasting of Haliburton. |

I'd be in for an Iraq or Post-Conflict forum. I'm sure there are a lot of similar cultural experiences to be shared. |

The only vote that counts is Dave's. And I doubt that he would waste the server space for the tiny amount of activity that it gets.
