Do you really think employers are reading these post and firing people over them? |

I dunno and I don't really think about it. I write on these boards, yet have nothing poor to say about my employer who, I think, know who I am. Even in my darkest days, my employer stood behind me. If you go to "dissing" your employer, then maybe you should be nervous. For example, there's a certain unnamed poster who keeps throwing little signals my way on the board hinting to knowing who I am, but, am I concerned...naw, I like my job AND my boss. If you bite the hand that feeds you, then why not feel "expendible"?
I use this forum for exchange of information, informing those who are considering a move, and, sometimes...having a little fun.
That being said, the fun that I DIDN'T have in Saudi is what I experience HERE today!

Yes, my advice is to be very wary.
HCT, the Petroleum Institute, and agents of most of the government positions, peruse this site regularly. Just ask [MOD EDIT] from the Dakotas, or the even more hateful [MOD EDIT] in Riyadh.
They-and many others; are desperate to keep their petty positions and more than happy to comply with the brutes who run these language programs. |

Yes, I have consistently over the years warned people not to use their real names to post here because employers peruse these boards, especially at this time of year when they are hiring.
Back when I was working in the Gulf and could be changing jobs, I kept my identity obscure. Fortunately that is not an issue and it matters not at all who knows me.
Has anyone heard of a teacher getting in trouble over their blog? There was the male nurse in Saudi that got fired over his a couple years ago. I expect that there are more likely teachers that didn't get hired because of their posts here during the hiring process.
