I guess I shouldn't be surprised. There are always exceptions on both sides...but from my own experience - and I do not claim to be an expert nor some sort of Kingdom veteran - what I mentioned in my post appears to be the norm. I could be wrong, though.

Dear Chthin,

"While you will be required to show up to work on time, your Saudi colleagues (usually less educated but in higher positions than you) will often roll in hours late to work if at all and do little."

Guess i was lucky - the Director where I worked played no favorites; everyone had to show up on time. In fact, one Saudi, who was late because of (he said) a flat tire on the way to work and showed up two hours late, was docked a day's pay.

Regards,
John

P.S. I always show up to work on or before time; I couldn't care less if other people don't.

Well, this is known as moral universalism, which is valid regardless of culture, race, sex, religion, nationality, sexuality, or whatever you have in mind.. and the Magic Kingdom is no exception!

In the Magic Kingdom, as in any other country, there are some people who apply the principle of moral nihilism instead of moral universalism in their thinking!! Laughing
