Please note that this tread is five years old.
For those who I have pending e-mails and PMs for, sorry - I'll get around to answering them as fast as I can. My life is a little crazy right now. |

Thank you Matt. I am trying to decide where to teach next year and Costa Rica is one of the locations I am considering. Again, thanks, your post was very informative, and helpful. |

Greetings to all. After glancing through the board, I'm suprised that there aren't more postings from teachers currently living here. I guess that makes sense, since the people who really want info don't have jobs yet.
I got quite a bit of help from this board when coming down here to look for jobs, specifically from a mammoth post on all the ESL schools down here from John Hall, which seems to have expired. At any rate, I feel a little unworthy of doing this since I've only been here three months and I'm outranked in seniority by so many teachers here, but they don't seem to be writing anything, so I'll give it a go. This is a bunch of information that I wish that I had known before coming down here. Take it as one man's opinion only.

This post is fantastic! It gives me a lot of information all in one place rather than having to search through a million posts and websites. Only problem: this is 5 years old! Is much of the information still true? Mattymatt, are you still teaching down there? I am looking at getting TESL certified and want to teach in CR, but have read in a couple posts that the ESL market is a little flooded right now. The organization Mattymatt works with sounds like a quality one and I'd be interested in finding out more about obtaining a job there. |
