Court ruled in Marty's favour today. The apartment can be accessed and all goods and personal belongings can be removed. Two cases won, one more to go - the criminal one but winning 2 so far speaks volumes at the unfairness and miscarriage of justice taking place in Abu Dhabi Courts and instigated by MENA Business Services

Great news!! Do we have any idea when the final case will be heard? Are friends clearing out his stuff and sending it off to him?

Yes it's very good news. Just waiting on key from court. Friends will go and pack and ship his contents - bound to be some damage as the apartment has been closed for 2 years without any air con.

Final criminal case will depend on cash availability - to begin the case will cost in the region of 50,000 AED. He's confident though that with winning the 2 previous cases, this will one be easier!! Fingers and everything else crossed.

MENA Business Services are still operating but not paying their staff. They have paid off a lot of staff and taken on others in Abu Dhabi who are blissfully unaware that previous staff still haven't been paid for up to 6 months despite winning a new contract with ADEC.

Marty now has all his possessions but MENA have appealed and this is still ongoing in court (as at 13 February 2010). No idea what they are appealing against? All goods are now back in the UK.

Marty is now back in the UK but unable to return to teaching as he can't get re-registered with the GTC due to this miscarriage of justice and the criminal charge (if you read the ISR link then you'll find out more).

http://www.internationalschoolsreview.com/nonmembers/marty-keith.htm

Any advice on what he can do with regards the GTC? His 3rd solicitor in Abu Dhabi has been sacked and he can't afford a 4th as he is presently on benefits for the first time in his working life. You can imagine how he is feeling. Career ruined and unblemised reputation tarnished.

The British Embassy in Abu Dhabi have up until now fully supported Marty but won't provide him with a letter for the GTC outlining the full circumstances and problems faced - labour case, auction of goods, problems with different solicitors, costs involved etc etc...........

Local MP and MSP are ignoring emails sent asking for help.

Please help if you can.

Thanks

Hi VS

General Teaching Council - all teachers must register and if out of the UK for 10 years or more, police clearance certificates must be provided for all spells abroad, issued by local police. Marty's name is in the UAE Police database - for arrest at any GCC airport so there is no chance of a police clearance certificate or good conduct certificate as they're sometimes known.

Posted a topic with a link last night to my website but sadly, it was swiftly removed?

I have written a book about my situation in Abu Dhabi and it's the same name as my website - alone in abu dhabi so if you type this and add .com you may find it.

During the time my topic was live, I received many emails and PM's of support so thank you for that.

Difficult times and having a pretty bad today. Just want it all to end so I can move on with my life.

MBS are still recruiting in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat and Bahrain despite not paying their existing staff. Lots of promises but staff are still waiting.

Your post is still on the other branches with the link. The problem was probably the multiple posts.

Good Luck with the book!
