Hi everyone--
I've looked through the various threads on the topic of phones, and I'm just wondering if anyone on the forum has a smart phone (Blackberry, etc) and if it costs an arm and leg to maintain in Poland. I'm just finishing up a 9 month stint in France, where I made due with a veritable brick of a phone (didn't want to get a contract). I'm dying to have a phone that has all the bells and whistles like I used to have, and I'm thinking of buying it while I'm back in the States for the summer.
One of my friends works for T-Mobile and recommends the Blackberry 8900 (as do a lot of people), but it's pretty crazy expensive. I'm happy to have a less outstanding phone...I just want a camera/video function, MMS capability, and occasional internet access. With a fairly slick interface, hopefully.
Can anyone speak to how expensive it is to do pay-as-you go versus getting a contract? I've looked at Orange's and ERA's websites, both of which are pretty hard to navigate in Google Translation format. Seems as though the minimum contract length is 2 years. I'd be willing to sign up for that, I guess, since I'm hoping to like it enough in Gliwice to stay for that long.
Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks... |
