|
|
Good morning everyone. Just wondering if someone out there might have had a little experience with this.
I currently hold a Mitsubishi UFJ bank account and due to my life being pretty plain my montly bank statement usually isn't very interesting. The deposit made every month by my employer and then a few debits made to it by my cell phone company and ATM withdrawls.
Today as I was going over my statement I noticed something a little unique.
It was a debit of 500$ called リヨウ ギンコウ with a service charge of 105 yen, the fee of using an ATM, method of withdrawl labelled MICS.
Every other time I withdraw my money it merely says 7-11 ATM, from "bank card 1".
The Japanese guy beside me at work who deals with this type of stuff all the time says its a little strange. Says it looks like a bank charge. Why would my bank be charging me 500$?
Thanks for any help you can offer. |

They charged you 500 dollars? Or do you mean yen? |

It was 500$, the situation is resolved though.
It seems that depending on which bank/atm you use they denote your bank card in different ways. In 99% of the withdrawls I have made my card is labelled "card c-1" Months ago I hit up a different bank machine which resulted in the my card being labelled as "MICS" This threw me a bit.
As well, all my other withdrawls were just listed as coming from an ATM. This withdrawl was listed as "riyo ginko" ( use of bank ) which to me sounded like a usage fee, and why the amount of 50,000 YEN seemed high. It all turned out to be just a different way an ATM withdrawl from a different bank appears on my statement. |

Remember to keep track of the money you remove? |
