Hey,

I have been in contact with a lady called Natalee Lee about finding apartments in Kaohsiung. She has sent me some photos of an apartment block by Cheng Ching Lake. It has tennis court, pool and it seems to be out of the way a bit.
Does anyone know this area or this apartment block?
It seems to be exactly what i am looking for and i know that it is about a 15 minute ride out of the city.
If anyone has any input then I would really appreciate it, thanks!

Hi there,

I know those apartments. I live near them on the opposite side of the lake in Naisong. It's a nice area to live in-air is generally cleaner and it's also refreshingly cool at night around the lake. If you're prepared to do the drive to get the city, it's a good place to live. And the surrounding neighboorhood is sprouting small eateries and restuarants all over the place and it's getting easier to find food to go, around.Hope it helps you.

I lived there for 2 years. Its maybe 5-10 min out of the city proper, but well worth it, especially since the lake has a cooling effect on the whole area..

Here's a link to a thread with a view from my building.

That really is a beautiful view from that apartment, thanks for sharing Wally. I can only hope that if/when I move to the area that I can find a place with a view like that in a flat I can afford!

That area is actually one of the cheaper areas to rent, due to massive overdevelopment without any real demand. A lot of owners are trying to rent them out at whatever they can get, just to make their mortgage payments. Look around and you're sure to find a deal.

In the apartment block I mentioned above, does anyone know a rough price for a one bed with balcony, kitchen and lake view?

Also, does anyone know if the pool and tennis courts are well maintained?

Thanks

bachelors are usually between 5000-7500

the pool is cleaned everyday by the man in the black speedo, but its only open when the sun is not in the sky (remember Taiwanese don't like the sun or tanning)

the gardens, basketball courts, tennis courts, are all great
