I'm just wondering what process I should use to look for the jobs. I'll probably just cruise the streets near my place for English schools and write down phone numbers, then call them and say I'm interested in an English teaching position and drop off my resume. Is there anything wrong with going about things that way? Or is there another method I should use?

I'd rather not apply online because I'd rather they be able to see me in person so I'm not just an anonymous Internet person. I'd also like to find a job near my apartment, which I'm less likely to get from an online application.

Oh, and one more thing -- should I go out of my way to inform a potential employer that my degree is an AA and not a BA? I'd rather just give them a resume that says "AA degree in Liberal Arts" and let the employer figure it out, but I'm worried about getting fired three months into the contract for "deceiving" them.

I tried the walk in approach here and they asked me to send in a resume by email. It seems thats the way things are done nowadays.

And if you send them an email you don't need to go out of your way to inform the employer of your degree.

If you are looking for a place near your apartment you might stop in and ask if they are hiring and whether or not they prefer to receive your resume by hand or email.Mostly likely they will ask you to email it.

A better approach might be to sit down with a Chinese friend who speaks English and have them help you look through, Tealit.com job advertisements and ask them where the places are located and if they are not convenient to your location just skip over them.
