I have looked at all the post to get a gauge on Aramco through HAK. Anyone have any ideas about the pay? Does it rank with Raytheon, Booz, BAE, ETC?

Also, I have a masters degree and public school ESL certification from the States. Any ideas on how to maximize this in Saudi?

HAK are one of the contractors for Aramco for their training contracts.

If you hold a US passport their pay is pretty good.

Conditions are that you live off the Aramco compound.

You will end up having to get your own accommodation and car but the salary is pretty good.

If you don't hold a US passport it is not that great.

Ok Thanks! Off compound living can be problematic. Do you know what for what city? Jeddah, Riyadh?

I also hear that it's single status only. Meaning no chance to find a wife there and live together.

Have the freedom to have a girlfriend at least? Either you're joking or you're confusing Saudi Arabia with Dubai.

Well, I know a Pilipino who was caught with his girlfriend by the police of Uncle Bandar, he was put in the jail for 7 days, then was deported with his girlfriend to Manila!

The other option is to get 99 lashes and a stamp on your back with an exit-only visa logo! Laughing

Well...um...sure...you can find a..."girlfriend" in Saudi. There's loads of "girlfriends" in Saudi. Not one you'd want to bring home to dear ol' Mom, tho!Shocked

You must be desperate. After wanting to have the freedom to have a girlfriend and mentioning marriage when an anonymous poster tells you you cannot have one you are not put off.

Yes, I am put off. Forget about that. I didn't know that about Saudi Arabia. I'm not sure I want to go anymore.

How on Earth could you not have known? Nobody wants to go.

You know? I find it very theraputic to vent on a post...only to see it as a rant on Saudi...and then click on the "Job Discussion Forums Forum Index" link. And, it all magically goes away.

It comes out of the system.

The vent is done.

None is the wiser.

And...the sad realization that nothing will change as people STILL think that there is good money to be made in Saudi.
