| Just wondering if anyone has started on birth control pill in Hanoi, Vietnam. Is it necessary to do to the doctor to get a prescription? Where is the best place to go for something like this? What hospital and do I need an appointment? |

I would walk into an International hospitcal (because of the language communication) and just ask. I'm sure they can give you the info, there. |

You can buy it over the counter, I think 'Diane-35' is a popular brand.
If you got to International SOS or the Family Medical Practice and see a doctor it will be more expensive but may give you more peace of mind.
There have been problems with counterfeit contraceptive medications in the past. |

| I buy Mercilon over the counter. No prescription and I know the brand (it's popular in some countries in Europe). Talking to the doctors over at SOS will set you back 127 USD for a 20-minute consultation. They'll give you a prescription (although you don't need it) or simply recommend a brand. |
