| Can any one verify if this is the same for a 12 month L visa? In other words they are no longer granting them for 12 months only 6 months for visiting family. Is this happening over all of China? Thanks. |

That's my understanding.
I think Jordean was using sarcasm to point out that one does not apply for an RP at one's local PSB (office/station).
One needs to go to a special office, also run by the PSB, called the Entry/Exit Bureau. Hence the OP having to make a 3 hour trip to get there. |
