If anyone has answers, I would appreciate them.

I have to apply for my Turkish visa in Seoul, but the Embassy here has given me a list of documents to gather, including a Turkish translation of my passport, a Turkish version of my CV, an education certificate again in Turkish, and all of these notarized.

Does this sound right for those of you who have obtained work visas? I'll be teaching at a university in the fall and need to apply for my visa as soon as possible, but I have no idea how to get these documents. I'm hoping that I have the wrong information.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Your employer in Turkey should be able to supply the translated documents you need.
They will also need to supply copies of your contract etc so it shouldn't be difficult.
They should also be able to advise you on procedure.
As you've outlined it it seems normal to me.

Ask them.

If they can't/won't help, perhaps you should reconsider the attractions of working for them?

Since the employers are supposed to pay for the visa... they usually want you to pay for your translated documents but they should be able to tell you where to take them..and then where to have them notarized. It is not such a big deal. The most important thing is to make sure they are translated properly. Double check with someone you trust. My friend's documents were translated incorrectly.. with errors.. and he could not get a work permit.

When you get your work permit.. you will not have to do this again even if you go to a new employer... the work visa is just renewed by the new employer.

beware..just because you pay for something here.. doesn't mean that you always get what you pay for.

My employers always took care of that, they organised the translations and I suppose they also paid for it.
