To satisfy the Saudi embassy in D.C. that is?
If so, would you please share where you went, exactly(?)
I've contacted several hospitals in Seoul that seem unwilling to accept differing paperwork/forms/procedures from their own.
Thanks in advance. |

The medical exams have to be attested by the ministry in the country in which you apply for the visa: ie, someone 'official' has to stamp your tests to certify that the doctor/clinic is registered with the local ministry of health. At least that's how it is with the London embassy. If the same is true elsewhere, it would pretty much rule out you doing the medical in a third country. |

Yeah?
Hmmm...I seem to remember a couple of Canadians who applied successfully from China, but that was some time ago.
At any rate, the beginning search in Korea has been fruitless. The hospitals I have been in contact with won't recognize the medical form provided by the Saudi Embassy. They say they can only issue their own forms regarding such tests and procedures, etc...(?)
My sponser (located in USA) wants me to get the medical done in Korea to expedite things, but....I just don't know if it's going to happen. |

That's not the point. Plenty of people apply for visas outside of their country of citizenship. However, you said you were applying for the visa in Washington but were hoping to do the medical exam in Seoul. |

It is possible to have the medical done in USA and apply for visa in London.
Not sure about Korea. |

I did my medical for KSA in Seoul at Samsung Hospital. However, my employer provided me with all of the forms in advance as the hospital did not have access to the required medical forms.
Use the international clinic at Samsung if you can. The family clinic at Samsung can offer all the same services, but it will take probably 3 different trips, while the international clinic will be one trip for tests and a quick second trip to pick up the exam results.
My wife is Korean and I am American. For whatever reason, the Samsung receptionist had a hard time wrapping her head around why we wanted to do our tests at the international clinic, so she booked us at the family clinic and it added some hassles.
The rest of the experience was fairly professional and hassle-free. The hospital is big and rambling, so if it is your first visit get one of the interpreters to guide you around - they are helpful and happy to do so. |

^Thanks Nick, I'll get right on that.

Sorry Cleo, my head was swimming a bit from info. overload.
The real problem is the admin contacts I have. Some are insisting that I'm applying for a biz visa (for now) but using the Saud med. form for the US co., while another is sending me all the docs for a block work visa.
A bit confusing.
Great looking contract, a mess to get in! |

This is still a lingering issue with me.
Guys in Saudi say HQ is probably going for a biz visa, but keep mistakingly calling it a "work visa."
Although, for the work visa...(another job inside of this year) my friend (american) informs me he did the medical in Thailand, while the company applied for his work visa in the US. He submitted those test results, lab reports, etc..from thailand with the Saud (US) emb. app. {D.C.} and it went through. |

My wife is Guyanese, doesn't yet have a US visa, I am American, we are in Korea, we have a contract for KSA, I have a Yellow Fever Egg-Allergy Official International Medical Waiver (Y.F.E.A.O.I.M.W.) but I cannot obtain as yet a Meningitis Waiver, though it is contraindicated in my case as it, too, is grown in Egg or Egg-Yolks.
WYF??!
WHoever just wrote above "great-looking contract, but a mess to get in" HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEADSTONE.
We too cannot find a Korean who can wrap their head around the need for the International Clinical Procedures being required to satisfy the Saudi forms.
We too cannot get roundtrip flights to Guyana and/or America in order to do the medical exams for KSA in time for the beginning of the contract, as we are teaching in Korea and have no time for that 13 hour sky-ride back to wherever, do the med exams, and then 13 hours back in the stratosphere. |

^ If you're in Seoul check the Samsung medical center, (as another poster pointed me to),....or Bestian Medical Center...both in Kangnam.
(02-3452-7575).
I went and scoped both places, and they can do it. The former even said, "Yes, we have a special Saudi visa package.." but I went with the latter (even tho the English ability is a bit limited there).
Sitting on results now and waiting for my ticket for US (hq) and then Saudi from there. |
