Newbies,
In RAK, you may very well be getting the Hilton summer special which includes breakfast with each night's stay. Hotels here carry on; in Abud Dhabi, VS is right that dining areas are cordoned off. Ramadan is set to start Aug. 21, by which time you'll have long moved out of the hotel, insha'Allah. At work you'll have special areas where you can eat/drink.
Grocery stores ARE open, but you cannot consume food or drink in public during daylight hours. I think Carrefour delays opening till 10 or 11 a.m., but then stays open till past midnight.
It's a surreal experience, but one not to be missed. |
