I have taught ESL overseas in Korea, Indonesia and the Bahamas. My new passion is surfing. I would love to find an ESL job near a surfers beach in Costa Rica. Anyone have any suggestions?

There is a school in Manuel Antonio applying for part-time English teachers. I don't know anything more about it, though - I just glanced at the article (in Craigslist, possibly?) and closed/forgot it. |

sequoyahrich: I'm new to this world of ESL, and I currently live in the US. I don't have information about schools near surf beaches in Costa Rica; I'm wondering if you found some good surf beaches in Korea, and if there were any job opportunities near them?
I am currently trying to decide between Korea, Thailand, China, and Colombia...any quick advice? I can't decide if I should sacrifice money to be in a country such as Colombia, or if I can find similar experiences, with better money, in Korea. I know that is a HUGE question, but even just a quick response would be helpful. |

Well from my experience in Thailand it has some weak surf-- A lot of the coast is in the gulf so there are hardly any waves, great for other water sports though! I have looked at many ESL jobs in Thailand and most of them are centered away from any good surf potentials, which would be in the deep south-- I am sure there probably are some, but saving money and making a good chunk of money wouldn't be part of that experience--
Its so damn tough to make a decision-- I am in a similar dilemma-- do I go for good money, or a place of my dreams... ? I guess that question never ends--
Hope that helps though ! |
