| My daughter and I will be flying out of Tulsa this Wednesday for San Jose, we have no onward tickets and suddenly, its a big problem. I saw once that someone talked about an itenerary of some kind satisfying that requirement. I have tried calling two or three buslines (Tica & Tuasa and the consulate in DC, but no help. All I get is "No vendemos biletes en telefono, solomente en persona." or "I cannot change di law." I am really sweten it here, can someone tell me what to do? Thanks, Roy

 | Take your electronic ticket, copy it to Word and forge an onward ticket. It's usually not a big problem. You can also talk to Ticabus about a reservation - possibly they will e-mail you a form of electronic ticket you can use. | |

 | In the past (20 + years) I flew into San Jose on a one way ticket and encountered no problems. | |

 | In four trips into CR in the past 6 years, the only people who have asked have been the airlines before letting me through to the gate in the States. Never once was I asked to show anything on arrival at SJO.
The only time it was an issue was in LA as I was on a one-way ticket (they refused to accept my excuse that I was going there to work for an undetermined period and would then be traveling onward.) I purchased a (fully refundable) onward ticket to Managua. A waste of their time and mine, but as the ticket was fully refundable, I canceled it two days after my arrival with a full refund (I was out the credit cards fees, however.) The onward-travel requirement is a law, but is exploited by the airlines.

The ticabus.com idea is best if you can swing it. Buy a one way ticket to Nicaragua. Sounds like your time's short though.
