The cost of visas to come study in the UK must be having a bad effect on numbers; anyone else noticed a drop in numbers? Delays?
This seems to me totally unreasonable-soooo expensive. A very bad policy which will quickly have a negative effect on the industry |

I noticed in the latest version of the EL Gazette that numbers ccoming to the UK from some countries are down including some in the EU (eg: Greece) where with no visa issues and Sterling down you might have expected an increase. I suppose the economic crisis is having an impact.
Another article talks about the difficulties of the new visa regime in terms of the procedure involved (not the cost), so maybe that is also an issue.
"THE NEW UK Border Agency (UKBA) points-based system for Tier 4 student visas is making it extremely difficult to complete visa formalities in time to get students on to university presessional EAP and degree courses starting in September, ....."
It appears the UKBA don't actually understand what a pre-sessional course is.. |
