Hi Europe Forum!

I hope to be teaching in Switzerland or Liechtenstein (FL) or Austria starting this fall and am sorting out how to get good and affordable health and property insurance. I am a dual citizen of Liechtenstien and the U.S.

I have emailed the 3 insurance companies that exist in FL to get information because my FL cousins said I'll need to buy health insurance even though I'm a citizen. Anyone have any suggestions regarding good sources for health insurance or property insurance while travelling and teaching?

All advice greatly appreciated! - Rebecca

Hi Rebecca!

I don't remember the name of the health insurance company I used when I taught in Switzerland but there's a handy website that helps with checking and comparing the various companies:

www.comparis.ch
(just go to the top left and change to the English version).

They also compare different banks and bank accounts, which may be helpful to you.

My pleasure - also, have you checked out the Swiss website for English teachers (English teachers Associate I think it's called)? I found my way to one of their events once and met some good people.

All the best!
