|
|
Hey,
I've been dealing with a recruiter, he has been really really nice.
He likes to talk about all kind of topics. Then, he will spring a school
on me. Ill say no, and he'll keep pushing and pushing.
I was wondering how much do they make?
Thanks |

No idea.
But as much as they can, I suppose.
Does it really matter?
Will knowing how much they earn change your decisions in some way?
Most/all(?) Chinese recruiters are paid by the school, thus their loyalties tend to lie with the school.
And thus they'll tend to lie to the FTs.
It's a cruel world, you look out for number one. |

so, are only the chinese recruiters liers
i look out for the number one too. it's kinda hard these day however. loyalties of employers who post (spend their money) on sites such as this one would supposedly lie with us the prospective employees.
cheers and beers to all fts in or coming to china |

Amen.
My limited knowledge is that one recruiter told me that she collects the equivalent of one month's teacher's wages. She liked to recruit post-grads because their salaries are usually higher. |

Only Chinese recruiters, nah. Many people lie:
I lie (if something's important enough and I have no other option)
He lies (all the time)
She lies (idem)
You lie (chances are, at some point)
They lie (when don't they?!)
We lie (ain't that the truth - at some point)

The recruiter that recruited me for my last job recieved 6,000 RMB. 10 teachers a month would make one comfortably wealthy in short order. |

JGC, i mean employers PAY to get teachers while recruiters GET PAID to give teachers which may pretty well give one of these two a bigger reason to LIE. Yes, I understand all'd like to keep a fine reputation.
Both, recruiters and employers, spend their time and money on recruiting. Now, and since possible earnings out of recruiting have been brought in, which one do you think spends more money on recruiting, the employers or the recruiters? And, which one do you think gets their money back sooner (before a ft takes that midnight run )?
Yes, I've heard of a recruiter that gets paid half upon recruitement and half on the end of the recruitee's contract.
Cheers and beers |

My understanding is that recruiters receive a commission equal to one month of the teachers salary. |

I worked on a L visa for one year and completed my contract at local middle school.
Every month the agent took out money from my salary and told me I was paying taxes. When I asked for receipts, the agent did not give me any.
After I completed my contract the agent told me I was working 'illegally' and was not given any recommendation letter.
The agent lied from the beginning all the way to the end of the contract. |

First of all you worked on an "L" visa for the whole contract, are you saying you thought you were working legally on that?
Second he took money from you without giving you any receipts or anything offical to confirm such payments.
More fool you! |
