People who come up with misleading tripe like this happiness index do not do the cause of environmentalism any good at all.

What do you find misleading? And how does this harm efforts to protect the environment?

So... since it doesn't really measure "happiness" - they ought to come up with a new name for whatever this is...

One would think that UAErs would be even less "happy" without A/C in the summer months, but would magically score higher on this particular index.

The air must be clearer today where you are. How long did it take to get your visa?

Mabruk!! (congrats, if you haven't picked up this one in Arabic yet) I do believe that is just a temporary visa and the "real" residence/work visa will be provided after you pass the medical tests in-country.

But... it does give one the confidence to actually pack one's bags. Cool

Shokran!!! Yes, exactly. Technically speaking, it is an "Entry Permit" for employment purposes, but it looks very "official." It shows my university as a "sponsor", my profession, and it has one of the dozen photos I sent them stapled on the top.

I can finally breathe deeply again... Now, time to sell the car, etc. Cool
