With all due respect to your friend's wife, I would take any advice of a Chinese with a huge grain of salt. Chinese don't have the same perspective as your fellow FTs. Schools that have a good reputation in China are often notorious in their crappy treatment of foreign teachers.

Personally, I would do the same thing. I wouldn't want to work for any of the corporate esl sweatshops.

This recent story details the sales of China's Wall Street schools ... Whether or not this will affect how they operate I dont know
