Well...I would like to begin a one-year teaching job around November 1, 2009, and have narrowed down my search to Shanghai. I have a Bachelor's Degree and a TEFL/TESOL certification but not a teaching degree. I have some experience in teaching children's sports outside of school but have not previously taught in a classroom. I'm now 2 weeks into searching for the right job in Shanghai and have had some great feedback but nothing definite. In addition, I have concluded there are roughly a million schools, programs, or people working out of their cars looking for English-speaking ESL teachers.
Would anyone have any suggestions of websites or places to search for positions (possibly specific to Shanghai)?
Would anyone have any suggestions for anything somewhat comparable to a makeshift Better Business Bureau to try to sort out what is and isn't a legitimate school? |

In China? Not a chance. That list would be as long as the Great wall itself.
That's what forums such as this one (and others) are for. |
