I haven't heard that story yet, but I doubt the locals here would get too worked up over a single, or even a bunch of Western fundies. They are too busy enjoying life, going on picnics and trying to pass the TOEFL. However, get them started on politics and you're in for a long night.

This weekend is election time as the Kurds go to the polls. Sunday will be a holiday, the roads are going to be closed to non emergency traffic and the airport and shops are also closing. So, don't try flying in to buy any jazzy baggy kurdish trousers. I'll be staying home with a case of beer and a stack of new pirated DVD's, zor bash!

BTW, the region now has it's very own airline, Amir Air. Ran by Kurds, but I haven't tried them yet as I'm worried they may lose their whey! Laughing

I just informally signed my contract to work at AUIS for the next couple years in the continuing education department. I'm really looking forward to the change in culture after working in East Asia for the past few years. I've appreciated the constructive discussion here guys. Thanks!
