| So why do you wish to remain anonymouse as you blacken someone's name? |

Are you serious? Oh, yeah, just out of the blue, for no reason, I just decided to "blacken" someone's name for no reason. As I said, if you think David Luo is such a trustowrthy guy that you'd like to work for, go right ahead! I'm certainly not stopping you. But I am sick and tired of the rampant "kill the messenger" mentality that permiates many threads on Dave's.
Glad to know you've never had a problem in China thus far, as your posts seem to imply. Consider yourself very lucky.
As for anonymity, it is basically a universal agreement that most people that put forth ESL employment/recruiter warnings and other information on the internet, do so anonymously, or have you not notcied monikers such as: "Sugar Magnolia," "Texas Highway," and "Voldermort"? How many people do you know with those names? |

Frank, how can you be so naive as to think Chinese people within the ESL profession do not read/know about this forum? I have no need to "tip off" anybody. All one needs to do is type the name of this school into Google and take a gander at the first hit.
I understand that you blame me for your bad experience here and for that I am truly sorry but let me ask you this: if in a restaurant a friend were to recommend the salad then later you have issues with the waitress, is your friend at fault? I recommended this school to you not to lighten my workload, which in fact I was later paid for, but because in my experience this is one of the better schools I have worked for within China.
Sure, in recent years, the standard/expectations of the foreign classes here has dropped dramatically taking along with it the salaries/benefits and every other warm and fuzzy feeling us Foreign Experts come to demand from a job. This has led me to end my four years within no.3 school and to seek out those students that have a real interest in learning English.
On a final note. No.3 school in Panzhihua is not the worst place to work yet it isn't the best. For a newbie in China this is a suitable place to learn the ropes. The only issues you will have here are negotiating your contract, like every Chinese business man David Luo would cheat Satan himself if it meant he could save a few extra Mao's; and Panzhihua city is not exactly a hub of excitement rich in Chinese culture with western style life that you would expect from larger cities like Chengdu. For a long time ESLer who really cares about their students and lifestyle, well I'll leave you to form your own opinions. |

Voldermort,
I appreciate your post. I truly do, and I also appreciate your apology, as you now seem to agree, is warranted.
Unfortuantely, I have to take issue with your restaurant analogy. Much more than a salad was involved here. You very pointedly told me that David Luo could be trusted, and you very pointedly misled me about the apartment (please, let's not revisit that argument). When I arrived and discovered some very unpleasant truths, you chose not to invlove yourself, at all. Fine, thanks for the recommendation to come here.
Not sure also what you mean by statements like: "For a newbie in China this is a suitable place to learn the ropes." What exactly does that mean, V? I was told my classes there would have a maximum of 35 students, One of them had 77 students! By learn "learn the ropes" you mean experience being decieved, and completely unsupported first hand?
I too, have actually worked in a school worse than No. 3 as well, but that's still no reason to give it the slightest recommendation.
Keep in mind, V, that you had/have a private life in Panzhihua off-campus, and in (I assume) a much more decent apartment. Your cicumstances were simply not at the same as other FTs that work at No. 3 school. We were expected to participate in evening activities at the school. You were/did not. We were locked inside or outside the gate of the school after 10:00PM, you were not. I could go on and on. You simply shouldn't take issue with another FTs claims about their experience at No. 3 school, when yours was not comparable.
I reactivated this thread when I discovered old-timer's post detailing a very similar experience as the one I had with David Luo at No. 3 school before him.
I felt validated. I was happy to leave it there.
If people want to continue bashing me for it, then I will respond.
I have no intention of making any additional trouble for you, V.
David Luo chose to contribute his series of typical, outrageaous and idiotic posts today, and of course, I responded.
Again, thanks for the apology, I accept and appreciate. |

You want to crticise David Luo, using his full name, but you want to do it anonymously. Very brave of you. |
