I am not 100% sure you mean the one that i've stayed at, but I'll tell you about mine below.

About 8 years ago, I worked in Dali Primary Experimental School in Dali. This town is really near Foshan, but under the juristiction of Nanhai city. It's quite a filthy area with lots of manufacturing around. Streets are narrow and rather filthy in Dali. However, the city has a lot of money. There is a nice park in Foshan. You can rent a bike and ride to the mountain. You can park your rented bike near a golf course there and try your fine golfing skills..18 hole and/or long range there. By the way, it takes only about half an hour now to the center of Guangzhou from there. They built some fine road for buses there.

As for the school, it was half private half government owned. I think, the government has pulled out of the deal there and it's only private now. There are/were about 1 000 students. The school has a gymnasium where you can play either table tennis or basketball and they've got a nice running track and football field. Their swimming pool was not allowed for teachers then. Staff/teachers were really nice to me and so was their principal. I even went our with him a few times for beer...an older man (in high 50s) who went to disco with me. Smile

My FAO (foreign affair officer in school) was Kevin Zhou, a young English teacher. He was really helpful. Other English teachers there were as helpful too.

Having said that, don't take this all for granted as things change. The school went through some re-organization and some staff left.

PM me if you need more...if this is the school you're talking about.

Cheers and beers
