I'm sorry but I feel as though I must start a new thread.(Please don't kill me VS)
I have read the most recent threads regarding ARAMCO, but I have yet to see one comment stating the pay.
I understand that they don't direct hire anymore, but I'm sure there is someone out there who can provide a good estimate on the pay (particularly the ones who are presently working for ARAMCO!!)
What can an American hired via a recruitment agency be expected to earn?! Please mention housing situation also. Is housing or an allowance provided?
THANKS! |

Interesting ... it seems Aramco is using agencies in the US but not in Europe, where it's seemingly a direct hire route.
I've not heard a thing about pay from them directly; I do know however I'll get accomodation on a compound and all the associated Aramco benefits as outlined in an e-mail from them.
According to another thread Aramco is between I think it was said 16-22,000RS

HAK are now recruiting for Saudi Aramco, and Saudi Aramco is also using a recruiter in Dublin. If you're in the US, you will go through an agent and interviews are in Houston- very very soon- like next week!
How much? Look, I can only give guidelines and this is HAK- not the family Von Trapp we're dealing with. But it's still Aramco.... so, anything up to 22,000 is *possible*, but it could go as low as 16,000 SR.
Just so many variables- and it might just come down to how desperate HAK are for people. Me personally.... I would go for SR 20,000. |

Thanks for the response. The figure you gave me was for those hired via a recruitment agency, correct? Was that figure inclusive of housing allowance? |

The figures I heard quoted through an agency in Saudi (Sraco) were
2050 to 4091 US dollars a month, for Advanced ITC teachers (under 10 yrs experience)
2450 to 4891 USa month for Senior Adv ITC Teachers (more than 10 yrs exp)
PLUS Additional 60% of basic salary for housing, transportation.
By my calculations, that makes 12,300 to 29, 000 SR a month
Quite a range. Also, think the figures may be out of date and are now slightly higher than those quoted.
So, don't undersell yourself and accept 20K SR a month, if you have quals and relevant experience.
Agencies may try to claw back some for visas etc. and this needs to be clarified. Heard of one agency taking 10,000SR admin fees for multiple exit/re-enty visas - ridiculous as they only cost 500SR.
My advice would be to check with agency before signing anything.
TT Kira, Aramco is also using agencies in the UK for European hires. Yours is the only case of direct hire I have come across. Could be because you are a female and it would be difficult for you to get an apartment, etc. in the community (the men are expected to do so, as they receive an accommodation allowance as part of their lump sum monthly payment). Of course, men can opt to live on private compounds but it would take a fair chunk of the lump sum they receive. |

You seem to know a fair amount about Aramco. Finally someone's distinguished what an Adv. ITC teacher is; do you know anymore? Whether I would be around Dharhan or whether this type of teacher could end up in the other 3 compounds?
Any idea if they have 'specialist' teachers? Or whether it's just generalist teaching? Reason I ask is they have a fleet of A320's & helicopters & I'm in aviation.

Thanks for the info, but my next question is about how much is monthly rent in Saudi for a one to two bedroom furnished apartment.
WHile I am not expecting an elegant place to stay, I do expect to have decent, respectable housing.
Thanks again. |

I'll ask around and see what I can find out over the weekend.
Furnished place... not sure but guess about 2500 - 3,000 SR a month for a modest one bed place. 20,000 - 25,000K SR a year for unfurnished - probably more space though |

Egyptfan, ure figures are meaningless- from 12800- 29,000 SR- wtf?
As for SR 20,000 implying someone is underselling themselves. take a look at the salaries in KSA. I don't think your quoting from direct experience, are you?
You also seem to be very inconsistent, suggesting that someone should hold out for SR29,000- on contracts where you then have to fork out for things like visas, medical insurance and then housing.
I don't know quite what to make of your post but I wonder if you've ever actually worked for Aramco? It wouldn't seem so. |

Markemark - I am quoting figures from an email provided by one of the agents. I am not trying to make sense of them just passing on what I was given by someone. If you have more definitive figures and more reliable sources, then please enlighten us.
The figures quoted are all inclusive and people have to get their own housing, transport etc. from the this.
Yes, it came as a surprise to me that Aramco pays more than BAe, etc. but you have to remember 1) it is Aramco and pays its direct hires more that BAe / Ratheon, etc. 2) the max figure quoted is not net salary, you do not have compound comforts and you have to look after yourself, pay bills, etc as people do in most countries.
20,000 SR is not a huge 'gross' sum for a company like Aramco. The teaching is not exactly easy from what I have heard.
Markemark, I never suggested that people should hold out for 29,000 but top notch candidates could get up to that figure, if they were lucky. The figures were quoted by the recruitment agent, not me. Then again, most top notch teflers probably already work for BAe / Raytheon, etc.
If you think my figures are outlandish and I have no idea what I am talking about, check

No, I have not worked for Aramco but I certainly would like to. I have friends who have been direct hires and seen contracts of one or two people who were offered (through agents) lump sums in the 8K $ a month region.
Finally, I did not suggest that people should hold out for 29K SR a month, just beware, when looking at the figure offered, that there will be deductions and it would be prudent to find out what you will have to pay from this amount in calculating your net salary. |

Egyptfan, Ok, fair enough, I worked for Aramco back in the late 90's at the Abqaiq ITC before the cowboys rolled in, so I have a certain perspective on it.
The current figure I have is SR 21,000 with accomodation provided on a secure western compound, transportation allowance, all visa and documentation done.
I think it's fair, not as good as BAE, but fair. |

Ok, Egyptfan, if you're tralking direct hires, then woooooa!
29,000 is possible, I am not talking direct hire.
But something else to think on, for English teachers, repeat- for us poor bloody TEFL boys, Aramco has no direct hires.
So? |
