I am trying to get some information about a Princess Noura University in Saudi. I can't find any web page only information on the "building of a new university" with same name. Does the university currently exist with a different name? ******soooooo confused*********** |

Dont' worry - even those of us who have been teaching in Riyadh for some years are confused!
To the best of my - limited - knowledge, Princess Noura is a branch of King Saud University for girls. However, there is some distinction (don't ask me what exactly) between it and the main uni. They are, I believe, currently using King Saud's facilities and work has been started on a massive new campus elsewhere in Riyadh.
Regarding teaching there, I believe they are hiring through a recuritment agency, and are not doing any direct hires. However, none of the above information is confirmed - just bits and pieces I picked up over the riyadh teachers' grapevine. |

Thanks for clearing that up... I was wondering the same thing myself. I had an interview with Kaplan Aspect and they said the position was for Princess Noura Universiy. When I googled it, the only info I got was that it was being built. So I was getting a little suspicious..
So in case your wondering Kaplan Aspect is recruiting for that university. |

A warning to all my TEFL colleagues!!!
I was offered a job at KSU by Bell recruiters and now with all changes therethey have just told me that they offer is not valid anymore. Take care!! I have left a good job in order to join this project and finally was treated with this lack of consideration. |

Princess Nourah Abdurrahman University and King Saud University are two separate women's universities in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Initially, they combined their Preparatory Year Program last year, which was hosted on the Princess Nourah University campus. However, they split up their programs for the coming academic year.
King Saud University (female campus) will host their own PYP at their campus in the district of Aulaysha and Princess Nourah will continue with their program at their campus in northern Riyadh.
Bell/AlObeikan has the PYP contract for King Saud University (male and female campuses) and Kaplan Aspect, AlFaisal Academy and GCC Staffing all have parts of the contract for the Princess Nourah PYP. |

| Do all of these agencies ( Kaplan Aspect, AlFaisal Academy and GCC Staffing all have parts of the contract for the Princess Nourah PYP.) have good reputations? |

| To my knowledge, Kaplan Aspect is new to the area. However, AlFaisal Academy I heard has a bad reputation. As for GCC Staffing, I know nothing about them. |

I have just been offered a job at Princess Nora University by AETG. Any good or bad things to say about them?
I have also been offered a job with the same university by Kaplan, and for $500 a month more that AETG wants to pay me.
I am waiting for the contracts to come in to have a look at them and compare.
What am I looking for in the Saudi Contracts that are different than contracts for Korea, let's say (been there, done that, so I know what is necessary in those contracts.)
Comments? |

What does AETG stand for?
Two major issues you will want to take note of in addition to the salary difference is housing and working hours.
During the PNU summer program, teachers were working 8 hours shifts; six of which were spent standing on their feet teaching with only two half an hour breaks!
So you may want to know what your contact hours will actually be. Last year during the KSU/PNU prep year joint venture, teachers only had to work a maximum of 6 hours and only four of which were actually spent teaching.
As to accommodation, some companies are trying to cut costs by pairing up teachers in one apartment. This may not be a comfortable situation for you so be clear on this before you sign on with whomever.
Hope this helps. |
